Board President Dan Cherrier and his wife Kathy have called Dublin home for more than 25 years. Their daughter attended Green Elementary, Fallon Middle and Dublin High Schools.
Dan was elected to the Dublin Unified School District (DUSD) board of trustees in 2016 and re-elected in 2018 on a platform of transparency, fiscal prudence and to complete the long-awaited Emerald High School. As a testament to his leadership and ability to bring people together, he has also been elected by his fellow trustees each of the last three years to serve as President of the Board of Trustees. His long advocacy for a second high school has paid off and construction is under way.
Dan has a long history of serving our schools having previously served on the John Green Elementary School Site Council, Chair of the DUSD Citizen Bond Oversight Committee, and member of the District Optimization Committee.
With a degree in finance and in engineering, he is employed as a Civil Engineer specializing in transportation, Dan is familiar with complex issues and financial management of projects at all levels. Earlier employment includes construction equipment operator, long-haul truck owner/operator, and commercial small plane pilot. He spends some free time working on cars and enjoys when people bring him a tough diagnostic problem.
